OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – One person is dead and another was left injured after a shooting in Opa-locka.
According to authorities, officers with the Opa-locka Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Rutland Street just before 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, the responding officers found two men who had been shot.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, one in stable condition and one in critical condition, police said.
Once of the victims has since been pronounced dead.
The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau has taken over the investigation, police said.
Some people were taken into custody by police but no arrests have been announced.
