MIAMI – Miami-Dade County officials announced a public program offering “a pathway to homeownership” in the Leisure City neighborhood will have a drawing on Friday afternoon that will be visible in person in Downtown Miami and virtually on Zoom.

The county announced there were 23,483 applications for the Dream Homes Lottery, an opportunity to buy one of the two $394,000 units along Southwest 297 Street. The application period was from July 24 to Aug. 7, and the qualifications included having a 580 credit score.

The two 4-bedroom units at a one-story house have two bathrooms and a covered terrace. The “computer-generated” drawing starting at 2 p.m., at the public library at 101 West Flagler St., or on this Zoom page requiring registration, will select 10 applicants.

The two applicants with the highest ranking will be able to proceed with securing financing and closing. If either of the applicants doesn’t qualify, the county will consider the next one with the highest ranking.
