PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – Two 16-year-olds were arrested early Monday morning after they burglarized and stole a Range Rover in Palm Beach County, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the teens were being surveilled by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office aerial units as the committed the crimes.
Troopers said deputies initially tried to stop the teens by using spike strips, but were unsuccessful.
Troopers in the area then used a PIT maneuver, in which the pursuing vehicle forces the suspect vehicle to turn sideways abruptly, authorities said.
The teens were then taken into custody.
Troopers said they both face multiple felony charges.
Their identities have not yet been released. Authorities did not immediately say where exactly the vehicle theft and chase occurred.
No injuries were reported during the chase.
