Man, 18, found dead in driveway after shooting in Broward

Murder victim had just become a father 6 months ago, relatives say

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Ammon Watson, who was the father of a 6-month-old boy, was the victim of a shooting on Saturday in Broward County, relatives said. He was 18.

The fatal shooting was shortly before 11:55 a.m. in front of a house in Oakland Park. Watson was arriving home from a store with his grandmother. She walked inside. He was shot.

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives were investigating his murder after Oakland Park Fire Rescue personnel declared him dead in a driveway near Northwest 28 Street and 22 Terrace. A helicopter was involved in the search.

Detectives searching for the killer asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 to remain anonymous.
