1 injured, 6 displaced during house fire in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A house fire injured one person and displaced six on Saturday morning in Lauderhill.

Lauderhill Fire Department personnel responded shortly after 1:45 a.m., to a house along Northwest 14 Street, near 43 Terrace, west of the Lauderhill Mall and east of the Florida Turnpike.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Levy, crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames, rescued a person injured whose condition was serious, and took the person to a nearby hospital.

According to The Red Cross, the house fire also displaced six people, including a child, and volunteers with Broward County’s disaster action team responded to offer assistance.

The Lauderhill Fire Marshal and the State Fire Marshal were investigating the cause of the fire.
