MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Authorities have announced an arrest in the case of disturbing animal abuse that was caught on camera.
The incident happened earlier this month in Miami Gardens.
Video captured a man wearing a pet grooming business shirt kicking a small dog seemingly in his care multiple times.
Police said Wednesday night that 33-year-old Richel Yumar-Gonzalez had turned himself in and made a full confession.
He is facing charges of animal cruelty.
The owner of Hialeah-based Deluxe Mobile Grooming, Yosuan Rodriguez, spoke to Local 10 News about the incident on Tuesday, saying he fired the employee as soon as he was made aware of what happened.
Police said they spoke with Rodriguez during their investigation and that he cooperated with helping officers locate Yumar-Gonzalez.
