Newly-released video shows sex offender approaching girl in Home Depot: ‘I love your Mickey ears’

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities have released video that shows the moment a 60-year-old man allegedly followed a girl around a Miami-Dade Home Depot.

The suspect, a registered sex offender, is accused of waiting for the 10-year-old outside the store.

It happened back on July 4 at a store located at 19400 SW 106th Ave.

The suspect, Kevin Hurley, is behind bars, with the State Attorney’s Office using the newly-released video to pursue those charges.

In the video, you can see Hurley approaching the young girl at the store’s exchange counter.

He tells her, “I love your Mickey ears,” referring to the Mickey Mouse headband she was wearing, according to an arrest report.

After checking out, police say Hurley approached the girl again, telling her he thought she was beautiful.

Then police say the situation escalated further. He continued to linger in the store, keeping an eye on the girl. Eventually, he went out to his car and parked in front of the store for 10 minutes.

When the girl comes out of the store accompanied by her mother, Hurley is seen following them down a parking lot aisle.

He parks near them until a man in a truck confronts him and he flees the area.

Hurley now faces a charge of stalking a minor. He remains behind bars.
