According to Detective Melanie Ginoris’s recent request for an arrest warrant, Luz “Lucy” Ozuna told investigators on Sept. 18, 2020, that she was at the crime scene during the shooting.

“She was outside of the residence with another individual, which was confirmed by the video footage obtained from the residence,” Ginoris, a Miami-Dade homicide detective since 2021, wrote, according to the warrant.

Bullard was killed at about 2:30 a.m., on Sept. 5, 2020, at 14741 Harrison St., in Richmond Heights, according to police.

“Homicide investigators interviewed the 911 caller who advised that he arrived at the residence to purchase narcotics,” Ginoris wrote about the witness who allegedly found Bullard dead.

Records show that after Ginoris’s request, Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Laura María González-Marqués issued the warrant for Ozuna’s arrest without bond on Sunday.

The evidence in the case also included cell phone data and communication through the TextNow app, according to Ginoris.

Police officers reported arresting Ozuna at 11:55 a.m., on Tuesday, at a house near Northwest Eighth Avenue and 14 Street, in Florida City.

Miami-Dade correctional officers booked Ozuna shortly after 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where she remained on Wednesday.

Ozuna was facing charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit armed home invasion robbery, and armed home invasion. Her defense filed a written plea of not guilty on Wednesday.

The court set her pre-trial detention hearing for 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, and her arraignment at 9:30 a.m., on Sept. 10. County Circuit Judge Zachary N. James is set to preside over the case.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
