DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A woman endangered her 2-month-old baby girl by holding her in her arms during a violent rampage in Deerfield Beach Tuesday, leading to her arrest on child abuse and neglect charges, deputies said.

Hany Matozes More, 37, of Pompano Beach, is also facing criminal mischief and resisting arrest charges.

Deputies said she went to the victim’s home just after 11:30 p.m. and started striking the victim’s door with a blunt object, “possibly her high heels.”

Matozes More was “thrashing violently” as she held her baby under her armpits, an arrest report states. Deputies said the baby’s head jerked “rapidly” back and forth, “which could have caused great harm.”

She also “held her baby in a headlock-like grip, causing the baby’s full body weight to pull down on her head/neck,” authorities said.

Baby still in tow, deputies said Matozes More broke the side mirror of the victim’s motorcycle and used a blunt object to damage the hood of his Tesla.

She’s also accused of damaging an exterior light fixture and ripping his surveillance cameras from the wall of the home.

“The defendant was holding her baby throughout all of this,” Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy Steven Lees wrote in the arrest report.

In order to stop Matozes More from destroying more property, authorities said the man’s roommate sprayed her — and the baby — with a water hose.

“When deputies arrived on scene, the defendant was still haphazardly holding her baby in her arms, nearly dropping her on multiple occasions,” Lees wrote. “The baby was hysterically crying and appeared frightened.”

Lees wrote that Matozes More “refused to let go of the baby” as she tensed up while deputies tried to place her in handcuffs.

“Not only did the defendant’s actions impede my investigation...she also put her baby in danger,” he wrote.

The baby did not end up suffering seriously bodily harm, authorities said. The report doesn’t state whether or how Matozes More knew the victim or whose custody the baby was placed in following her arrest.

As of Wednesday, Matozes More was being held in the BSO Main Jail on an $8,000 bond, online records show.
