Residents of Opa-locka neighborhood upset over frequent accidents at dangerous roadway

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – A nasty wreck in Opa-locka left two cars smashed and upside down, with several people injured.

It happened Sunday on busy Opa-locka Boulevard, which is a one way street, at Northwest 10th Avenue.

Neighbors say crashes happen there all the time.

It’s where kids coming home from school try to cross the street.

The one stop sign on 10th Avenue is hard to see thanks to tree branches.

Residents showed Local 10′s Janine Stanwood photo after photo of incidents that occurred this summer.

Local 10 News reached out to Miami-Dade County, which oversees traffic lights and signage, to inquire about the lack of signage.

In less than 90 minutes a worker was there with a new sign.

Residents still feel more can be done.
