Man in custody after police serve warrant for homicide case at Opa-locka townhouse

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – At least one person was taken into custody Monday morning after a warrant was served at a townhouse in Opa-locka.

Sky 10 was above the 1800 block of Northwest 142nd Lane as several people could be seen sitting on chairs outside the home that was the focus of the investigation.

Authorities took 22-year-old Christian Perpall into custody on several charges, including second degree murder.

A number of detectives in unmarked cars were at the scene, along with Miami-Dade police.

A Local 10 News crew spotted detectives going in and out of the home.

Crime scene investigators were seen taking photos of the outside of the home as well.

According to his arrest form, investigators connected Parpell to the death of a 21-year-old woman named Dory Pierre.

She was shot while driving on March 7 of last year and died at the hospital a week later.

According to the document, Perpall and a co-defendant, Dominic Jackson, planned to meet up with another man and his siblings to fight at a home off Northwest 22nd Avenue and 114th Street.

Parpell allegedly armed himself with a rifle and gave Jackson a pistol, which police say they fired, causing the other man to shoot back in self-defense.

One of the bullets their target shot traveled nearly three quarters of a mile away, striking Pierre in the neck.

Police say if it weren’t for Parpell and Jackson using guns to settle their score, their target would not have had to shoot back in self-defense and Pierre may still be alive today.
