Florida Keys residents move to help widow with 2 kids

MARATHON, Fla. – Griselda Pérez and two of her children are grieving.

José Dominguez, Pérez’s husband and the father of her three kids, was riding a 2018 Yamaha personal watercraft with their 9-year-old son Daniel when he crashed into a seawall on Aug. 13 in the Florida Keys.

Dominguez, 47, and Daniel died.

Morgan Coleman, of The Castaway Waterfront Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Marathon, set up a GoFundMe page to raise $15,000 in donations to benefit Pérez and her two children.

“It is in times like these that we must come together to support one another,” Coleman wrote. “Griselda now faces the overwhelming burden of grief, while also needing to provide for her children’s future without the support of her husband.

“No one should have to endure such a loss alone.”
