MIAMI – A heated argument over a car ride escalated into a potentially dangerous situation when police said a woman threatened her 81-year-old grandfather with a knife inside their Miami home in late April.
According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department, 21-year-old Henessy Tirado is facing one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon of a person 65 years or older following her arrest on Wednesday.

The incident began when Miami police were dispatched to a home just before 2:30 p.m. on April 20 after receiving reports of threats made at a home near the 1000 block of Northwest 45th Street in the Liberty City neighborhood.
Police said the victim claimed Tirado became increasingly impatient when he did not immediately agree to take her where she wanted to go.
Police said the situation quickly turned hostile and an argument ensued.
During the altercation, Tirado grabbed a knife from the kitchen and pointed it at the victim.
A witness, who was sitting on the couch at the time of the incident, told police that she overheard the argument and distinctly heard Tirado threaten the victim.
According to the witness, Tirado told her grandfather “If you don’t take me right now, I’m going to stab you just like my mom used to,” the report stated.
Police said another witness stated that Tirado was holding the knife in her hand while making threats to slash the victim’s tires.
The victim, fearing for his safety, told Tirado that he would call the police, authorities said.
At that point, police said Tirado threw the knife inside the residence and fled the scene before authorities arrived. Police said they later confiscated the knife.
As of Thursday, Tirado is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond has not been determined.
Police did not disclose where the suspect asked her grandfather to take her before the incident occurred and whether her mother had faced any previous charges.
