Aventura man jailed for child sexual abuse material shared 60,000 ‘files of interest,’ cops say

AVENTURA, Fla. – Investigators connected an Aventura man to an IP address transmitting more than 60,000 “files of interest” during an investigation into child sexual abuse images and videos on a peer-to-peer file-sharing service, authorities said, leading to his arrest on Tuesday.

Bruce Robert Fundora, 46, is facing 15 charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material.

His arrest came after North Miami Beach and Aventura police, along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant at his condominium at the Biscaya Three complex at 20500 W. Country Club Drive.

North Miami Beach police Detective Zoila Exclusa wrote in an arrest report that the investigation into Fundora began in May as she conducted a “proactive investigation” into known files of child sexual abuse material being shared on the unidentified peer-to-peer service.

She wrote that investigators found that Fundora’s IP address was transmitting 20 torrents, containing more than 60,000 “files of interest,” from November 2023 through Monday.

After executing the search warrant Tuesday, police said they found “many images” on a “burner phone” he owned.

The files on Fundora’s phone and those transmitted through the peer-to-peer site depicted young girls, some appearing to be “under 7,” being raped or otherwise sexually abused by men.

Additionally, authorities noted in the arrest report that conditions at Fundora’s home were “deplorable.” Police said his 85-year-old grandfather and his blind, 60-year-old aunt were “in need of services” and officers contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Jail records show that Fundora was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $75,000 bond as of Wednesday afternoon.
