Adult, child killed in personal watercraft crash in Marathon

MARATHON, Fla. – Two people died in a personal watercraft crash in the Florida Keys on Tuesday evening, officials told Local 10 News.

Authorities said the victims — an adult and a child — crashed the watercraft into a sea wall near 15th Street Ocean in Marathon at around 6:45 p.m.

Officials have not yet released the victims’ identities as of Tuesday evening. Authorities said they were a father and son.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the wreckage.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the crash.
