Miami Gardens man accused of severely beating 83-year-old over electric shaver

Convicted felon now back behind bars

Jeffrey Doster (MDCR)

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – An argument over an electric shaver led a Miami Gardens man to severely beat an 83-year-old man Thursday evening, leading to his arrest, according to police.

Jeffrey Doster, a convicted felon who’s had several stints in state prison dating back to the early 1980s, is facing a charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 or older, a first-degree felony.

According to Miami Gardens police, officers responded to the incident location, which was redacted from an arrest report, and found the victim “bleeding profusely from the head and arms with blood around him on the floor.”

The report states that the victim told officers that Doster, 60, punched and kicked him amid the argument and the victim began walking to the kitchen to alert the residence manager.

Police said Doster continued to punch and kick the victim until he fell to the floor — and then kept kicking the octogenarian while he was down.

A witness inside the home corroborated the victim’s story. The report doesn’t state how Doster and the victim know one another.

Medics took the victim to Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach for evaluation.

Doster, whose previous convictions include robbery, burglary and grand theft, was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Friday afternoon.
