Fort Lauderdale PD: Woman stabs victim after confronting 2 people inside vehicle

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A woman was detained Friday after she stabbed someone who was sitting inside a vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.

According to Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening, the stabbing was reported around 11:50 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Broward Boulevard.

Liening said the suspect confronted two people inside of a vehicle before stabbing one of them.

She said the victim was transported by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect has been taken into custody.

“This (is) an ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Liening said in an email to Local 10 News.

No other details were immediately released.
