MIAMI – Local 10 News has exclusively obtained videos showing the moments police arrived at a gruesome scene where a mother and daughter were found murdered in Miami.
The video shows the confessed killer, 48-year-old Carlos Travieso, who appears to be cool, calm and collected moments before being taken into custody.
There are still many questions unanswered in this case.
In the video, Travieso is put in handcuffs by West Miami police for the murders of his ex-girlfriend, Isbelsy Olivera, 22, and her mother, Irisbel Cartalla, 50.
Local 10 News was at the heartbreaking scene in December outside the Yolanda Villas Condos, in the city’s Flagami neighborhood, near Miami International Airport.
Inside, new video also shows crime scene technicians suiting up to process the horror inside of the mother and daughter’s apartment home.
They were found shot dead.
Investigators said Travieso gained access to the apartment through a witness, and the victims were ambushed.
Social media pictures from months prior show Travieso and his much younger ex-girlfriend living happier times during a trip to Las Vegas.
What prompted their break up and the motive for the crime remains unclear.
In the days leading up to the murders, Travieso posted several emotional posts on his Facebook page, including a video of a church service, writing in Spanish: “Thank you God for forgiving me. I am ready for everything.”
Travieso’s next court hearing is later this month.
