Broward County Public Schools add culinary programs to course selections

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward County Public Schools have added a new program to their curriculums for middle school students this school year.

It will be the first time the program has been offered in 15 years.

Students will learn the necessary skills like reading, math and science with hopes of using those skills in the kitchen.

“So, having this program here at Deerfield Beach middle school will allow them to experience to understand that they have the opportunity of bringing these skills into the real world as well as into the industry, " said Dr. Latori Fulton, Principal of Deerfield Beach Middle School.

Deerfield Beach Middle school is one of six middle schools, including Apollo Middle School, Attucks Middle School, Margate Middle School, Pines Middle School and Silver Lakes Middle School, in Broward County to start the program this year.
