LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A woman was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after she was shot outside a restaurant and event venue in Lauderhill, authorities confirmed.
According to Lauderhill police, officers responded to Lallo’s Caribbean restaurant, located at 1400 N. State Road 7, around 2 a.m. in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they saw a crowd of people disbursing from the area.
Police said they were advised that a friend had transported a woman who had been shot to HCA Florida Plantation Emergency.
Police confirmed the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.
According to authorities, another woman who was at the scene suffered some kind of minor injury, but she was not shot.
That woman, who spoke to Local 10 News, was also transported to HCA Florida Plantation Emergency by a friend.
“I see a group of girls running and the crowd is just squishing,” said Oleila Morgan. “I heard glass break, I looked down, I lost my shoe and then I’m like, there is definitely glass in my foot.”

Police said the motive for the shooting is currently unknown, and they do not have information at this time on any suspects.
