Missouri woman arrested in Tennessee on South Florida warrant, records show

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A woman from St. Louis, Missouri, who lived in Memphis, Tennessee, was recently arrested in Nashville and extradited to South Florida, records show.

According to court records, Tamara Veasley has two pending cases in Broward County courts: A misdemeanor case and a second-degree felony case.

According to an arrest warrant, Broward Sheriff’s Office Detective Carlos Morales accused Veasley, 38, of credit card fraud on Jan. 9, 2023. Prosecutors filed the misdemeanor case on March 31, 2023.

Prosecutors filed the felony case against Veasley, also known as Lakesha Veasley from Memphis, on Friday, after BSO detectives accused her of stealing over $20,000.

County records show BSO correctional deputies booked Veasley on Thursday and she remained at the main jail on Friday night in Fort Lauderdale on a $30,000 bond.

Broward County Circuit Judge Ginger Lerner-Wren was presiding over the petit theft, misdemeanor case, and County Circuit Judge Michael A. Usan was set to preside over the second-degree felony grand theft case.
