KEY WEST, Fla. – Ten Cuban migrants are now in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol after making landfall in Key West.
Samuel Briggs II, Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol - Miami Sector, confirmed that the group arrived on a makeshift boat Thursday morning.

The group consisted of eight adults and two juveniles, according to Briggs.
Briggs did not specify the exact location where the migrants were found but thanked the Key West Police Department for their assistance in a post on X.
Authorities did not disclose the age, gender or identities of any of the migrants.
It’s unclear how many days they were at sea and no injuries have been reported at this time.
