The conflict didn’t end there. Police officers reported Duran confessed a grudge fueled a crime spree. There were attempted murders and a police pursuit.

“Duran said he was in a state of rage and wanted to harm Marco,” Pembroke Pines Officer Danny Hidalgo wrote in his arrest report.

Collazos reported his dog’s noise woke him up early Monday morning. Duran confessed to climbing up to a balcony and breaking into Collazo’s apartment while armed with a knife, according to police.

Collazos and Duran told police officers they fought for control of the knife in the apartment’s living room. Diana Macias, Collazos’s mother, was visiting him from Colombia.

Macias, 46, told police officers she woke up during their struggle and attempted to disarm Duran. According to the police report, Duran said he cut his hands and fled.

Uribe, who was driving, was waiting outside in a getaway car and the two fled. Collazos called 911. Police officers spotted the white Honda with Duran and Uribe and a pursuit started.

It ended with Pembroke Pines police officers arresting both Duran and Uribe at a gas station along North University Drive, according to the police reports.

“Jorge did admit to fleeing from police because he doesn’t have a driver’s license,” Idalgo wrote.

Broward Sheriff’s Office inmate records show Duran remained at the main jail on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale on an immigration hold. He was facing five charges and was also held without bond.

Duran faced charges of premeditated attempted murder, burglary of a dwelling while armed, burglary with assault or battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and false imprisonment. Broward County Circuit Judge Andrew L. Siegel was set to preside over his case.

Broward County court records show Uribe was facing charges of premeditated attempted murder, burglary of a dwelling, fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and reckless driving. Circuit Judge Michael I. Rothschild was set to preside over his case.
