NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The Humane Society of Greater Miami is asking for the community’s help.
On Wednesday, seven malnourished puppies were found abandoned on its shelter grounds in North Miami Beach.

As staff members quickly worked to provide care, they discovered that each puppy tested positive for giardia and coccidia.
The puppies are undergoing treatment.
This incident is similar to one that occurred last month, when eight puppies were abandoned at the same shelter, which is already operating above its capacity.
“We are in a state of crisis,” said Jossie Aguirre, Executive Director of The Humane Society of Greater Miami, said in a statement released by the shelter. “Our shelter is beyond capacity, and the continuous abandonment of animals is exerting immense pressure on our resources. We urgently need the community’s support to manage this escalating situation and provide these animals with the care they so desperately need.”
