Over 30 suspected Cuban migrants come ashore in Key West

KEY WEST, Fla. – Authorities responded to a migrant landing on Tuesday morning in Key West.

A Key West police spokesperson told Local 10′s Janine Stanwood that approximately 33 migrants, believed to be from Cuba, came ashore at the Truman Waterfront and arrived on what appeared to be a makeshift boat.

Authorities said the migrants are now in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol.

Police did not disclose the age, gender or identities of any of the migrants.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
