Authorities said an investigation by the FDLE’s Election Crime Unit, with assistance from the Florida Department of State Office of Election Crimes and Security (OECS), revealed that Nash submitted a false voter registration application in 2018.

Detectives said he then illegally voted in elections for candidates in statewide and federal offices.

“Nash has never received his restoration of civil rights,” a news release from the FDLE stated.

According to authorities, Nash was convicted in 2001 of felony sexual battery on a victim 12 years old or older in Miami-Dade County.

He was arrested on an FDLE warrant on July 18 by the Miami-Dade Police Department and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He has since been released on bond.

“Since May, two registered Florida sex offenders have been arrested by FDLE’s Election Crime Unit for illegally voting, and in 2024 alone 12 have been charged with various election crimes such as petition fraud,” the news release stated. “Since the inception of the ECU in 2022, 55 have been charged with election related felonies following ECU investigations.”
