HIALEAH, Fla. – New details were released in an arrest report Thursday after Miramar police took a 27-year-old man into custody on Friday who they said was wanted for a homeless man’s mid-July murder in Hialeah.
Miramar police responded to a shooting near a dentist’s office on 1141 Palm Ave, on July 12, where they found Adalberto Wagner Garrido, 58, with a gunshot wound to the head.

Garrido was transported to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma Center, where he died on July 19.
Homicide detectives reviewed surveillance footage and confirmed Garrido was shot dead as he slept outside the office. The suspect then fled in a black 2011 Ford Mustang convertible.
Police traced the vehicle to Mohammed Rajaie Ali. Surveillance video from Ali’s North Miami Beach apartment complex showed him carrying a dark-colored revolver inside the right side of his front waistband just moments before the shooting occurred.
Authorities obtained a warrant and placed a GPS tracker on Ali’s vehicle. They also retrieved video footage from an apartment complex just south of the dentist’s office, which showed him “acting suspiciously and in possession of a firearm,” according to the report.
Police said while waiting for the elevator in the apartment complex, Ali was seen dancing and spinning a gray shirt while pointing a gun toward the ground.
Investigators said moments after leaving the apartment complex and exiting his vehicle, Ali was seen “walking up to the victim, who was asleep in front of the dentist’s office, and without provocation, shot the victim in the head at approximately 1:30 a.m.”
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office inmate records, Ali was at the Broward County main jail without bond as of Thursday evening in Fort Lauderdale.
Ali also had a Miami-Dade County hold on the first-degree murder charge.
Police did not disclose a motive in the fatal shooting and the relationship between Ali and the victim remains unclear at this time.
