MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A registered sex offender was arrested Tuesday after Miami-Dade police say he stalked a 10-year-old girl inside a Home Depot store.
The incident was reported at about 11:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July at the Home Depot located at 19400 SW 106th Ave.

According to the suspect’s arrest report, Kevin Hurley, 60, of Miami, approached the girl and told her, “I love your Mickey ears, and I think you are too big to be in that shopping cart.”
Police said the girl became uncomfortable and removed the Mickey ears she was wearing.
Hurley then finished his transaction at an adjacent register but then spoke to the girl again, saying something along the lines of “I think you are so beautiful,” the arrest report stated.
According to the report, after completing his transaction, surveillance video shows Hurley pacing back and forth in a nearby aisle while continuing to watch the girl.
Police said the girl’s mother noticed Hurley’s odd behavior and took a photo of him.
Hurley eventually tried to approach the victim from behind but was “deterred,” at which time he continued to walk around the area for a bit before leaving the store, the report stated.
According to the report, the girl’s mother asked an employee to walk them to her car and, once outside, noticed Hurley was parked at the exit.
Police said the mother took a photo of Hurley’s license plate and then, instead of walking to her vehicle, walked to an empty parking space.
Hurley then parked his car at a Stop sign directly in front of the victim and her mother until he was confronted by a man inside of a black pickup truck, authorities said.
Police said Hurley then fled the scene.
According to the report, as part of the conditions of Hurley’s probation he is subject to GPS monitoring and cannot have unsupervised contact with minors.
He was located Tuesday and arrested on a charge of aggravated stalking of a minor.
As of Wednesday morning, Hurley remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. His bond had yet to be set.
