Police: Woman stabbed by boyfriend in Hialeah

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police are investigating what they called a “domestic-related incident” that resulted in the stabbing of a 35-year-old woman.

According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, the stabbing occurred at about 3 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 4200 block of West 11th Place.

Rodriguez said the victim called 911, asking for help.

When officers arrived, the victim and a 10-year-old child were outside the home, waiting for police.

According to Rodriguez, the woman was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Her condition has not yet been released.

Rodriguez confirmed that the suspect is the victim’s boyfriend.

He said the suspect was still inside the home when officers arrived.

The suspect then exited the home, suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted stab wound, Rodriguez said.

He said the suspect was also transported to JMH. The child was unharmed.

The victim and suspect’s identities have not been released, nor has further details about what led up to the initial stabbing.

A neighbor told Local 10′s Joseph Ojo that police were often called to the home on weekends because the couple would play loud music late at night.
