According to police, the shooting happened just after 1 a.m. on May 28 outside of Tiny’s Liquors, located at 11300 NW Seventh Ave. in the unincorporated Pinewood area.

Police said surveillance video showed the 34-year-old victim arriving at the store as Augustin returned to a white Nissan Maxima, having just made a purchase.

An arrest warrant states that the video shows Augustin and the victim exchanging words. Then, it shows Augustin reversing the sedan into the road while still arguing with the victim, then pulling out a gun and shooting the victim in his leg, it states.

A friend took the victim to North Shore Medical Center for treatment and the victim told detectives that Augustin was the shooter, police said.

According to a police report, authorities found Augustin in the area of Carmel Lakes Drive and Ives Dairy Road in northeast Miami-Dade on Tuesday and arrested him.

He was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Wednesday afternoon, online jail records show.
