LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A vehicle fire caused a traffic mess on the Florida Turnpike Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities rushed to what appeared to be an RV that caught fire in the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike.
It happened around 3 p.m. near the Commercial Boulevard exit in Broward County.
Firefighters appeared to extinguish the blaze but smoke could still be seen coming from the vehicle after the flames disappeared.
All southbound lanes were closed and cars were slowly moving past the scene in the shoulder.
Authorities said no injuries were reported and the vehicle would be towed away from the scene as lanes began to reopen.
