Driver airlifted to hospital after car crashes into tree in Opa-locka

A driver was airlifted to the hospital Tuesday morning after crashing their car into a tree in Opa-locka, authorities confirmed.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said medics responded to the traffic accident and confirmed an adult was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Sky 10 flew over the scene just after 10:30 a.m. where authorities were focusing on the car that crashed into the tree near the 14900 block of Northwest 27th Avenue.

Miami-Dade police officers also responded to the scene and redirected traffic in the area.

Authorities have not released the age, gender or condition of the victim, and the cause of the crash remains unclear at this time.
