Man smashes through 2 businesses for $8k worth of pre-rolls in Wilton Manors

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Tempered glass, dozens of cameras and several locked doors did little to stop a man from stealing $8,000 worth of pre-rolls.

The man was caught on several cameras in and around Art Frenzie on the drive in Wilton Manors.

Video shows the man pulling, stabbing and kicking the glass door at the art gallery and custom framing business early Friday, until he finally gets inside, but he wasn’t after the art.

“I was just in shock because we’ve never had this happen,” said Candice Rossi, of Drag on the Drive Hemp & Specialty Gifts.

Rossi said once the man got into the gallery, he used a tool to smash the door that led to a second business inside. The man then quickly got to work.

“He had obviously been here before because he knew exactly where to go,” said Rossi. “He was just looking for pre-rolls. He went to exactly where the pre-rolls were and loaded up his bag.”

By the end of it, he made off with $8,000 worth of those papers, burglarizing two businesses.

It was a really big blow to a small local business.

Rossi said she has no ill will, but offered some advice to the troubled young man.

“Get a job,” she said. “So you have a good life ahead of you. This is not going to help you get you where you want to be at the end of your life for sure, selling pre-rolls at the dance clubs.”

According to Wilton Manors police, the thief was described as a young white or Latin male with brown hair, last seen wearing dark pants and a white and black Nike jacket. He was carrying a black and neon green backpack.

Anyone with information is urged to call police or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
