MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man was arrested in Miami Beach for striking a hotel employee multiple times before showing her his genitals and asking if she wanted to be raped, authorities said.

It was reported just after midnight on Monday at the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club, located at 1732 Collins Avenue.

According to police, 30-year-old Deibbys Cardoso Rodriguez, who is homeless, entered the hotel and asked to use the computers. Despite being told they were only for employees, he proceeded to use them anyway and accessed a porn site, authorities said.

Police said when the victim approached him, he struck her in the face, and then did it twice more when she followed him outside. It was then, according to Rodriguez’s arrest report, that he pulled down his pants to show the victim his genitals and asked her “if she wanted him to rape her and if she wanted more from him.”

Officers later located Rodriguez while canvassing the area and took him into custody, finding a baggie of suspected crack/cocaine in his pocket.

Police said he refused to identify himself and pled the fifth when officers questioned him.

He was taken to jail without further incident, and officers noted in his arrest report that Rodriguez “had an extensive criminal history.”
