MIAMI ā State and local officials dealing with construction on State Road 836 warned drivers that the eastbound lanes are set to close Saturday night in Miami.
The planned closure at Northwest 17 Avenue starts at 11 p.m., Saturday, from Little Havana to Overtown, and ends at 9 a.m., Sunday. The ramp at Northwest 12 Avenue will also close. The eastbound detour is at Southwest First Street.
To access Interstate 95 or the MacArthur Causeway, drivers must travel eastbound on Southwest First Street, cross the Miami River, and continue along Southeast First Street.
Drivers on their way to I-95 must turn right at South Miami Avenue and turn right again at Southeast Second Street to access the southbound and northbound ramps.
Drivers on their way to the MacArthur Causeway must continue eastbound on Southeast First Street and turn left at Biscayne Boulevard to access the ramp in downtown Miami.
Officials also warned the construction may affect Miami River drawbridge operations at the Southwest First Street Bridge and the West Flagler Street Bridge on Sunday morning.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation and the Greater Miami Expressway Agency, the closure is part of a construction project for the āI-395/SR 836/I-95 Design-Build Project.ā
