Family of inmate who died at Joseph Conte Facility releases new details

Grieving father: Toxicology report reveals fentanyl was involved

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The grieving family of a 25-year-old inmate who died earlier this year at the Joseph Conte Facility in Pompano Beach released new details on Thursday.

Corbin Moberg was in custody on felony drug charges when Broward Sheriff’s Office correctional deputies reported finding him dead on Jan. 2, in his cell at the facility at 1351 NW 27th Ave.

Moberg’s father, Robert Moberg Jr., said the hardest part of grieving for his son was not knowing what happened to him and he blames corrections for not keeping him safe.

The father had pictures of his son on display near the facility when he said that a report from the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed he had tested positive for fentanyl.

The grieving father said he was not filing any lawsuits, he just needed answers.

The NAACP asked the U.S. Justice Department to open an investigation into Moberg’s death.

Moberg was also survived by his mother, Ann Mills; his twin, Christian Moberg; and his five siblings, Cassy Mills, Chas Moberg, Corey Moberg, Cameron Moberg, and Caleb Moberg.
