Miami-Dade police said at approximately 2:34 a.m. the victim was awakened to find Vega pointing scissors at him and demanding money in the parking lot outside of a Burger King, located at 15170 SW 72nd St., in the West Lake Shopping Center.

Authorities said following the armed robbery, the victim exited his vehicle and fled the scene on foot, but Vega chased him and pushed him to the ground, causing scrapes and bruises on his hands.

A witness called the police during the incident, where they later found Vega sleeping in her vehicle nearby and took her into custody.

Detectives confirmed the victim positively identified Vega as the suspect while at the scene.

Investigators said Vega refused to speak to detectives after she was arrested.

No further details have been released about the victim’s age or condition at this time.

Police did not disclose exactly what was taken from the man during the incident.

Jail records show Vega’s bond information has not been released due to an outstanding warrant related to a separate child neglect charge.
