Mother accused of leaving daughter, 4, in hot car while shopping at Hollywood Walmart

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A mother was arrested over the weekend after police said she left her 4-year-old daughter in a hot car while she shopped at a Walmart in Hollywood for more than 30 minutes.

According to investigators, Anastasia Moloto, 34, was seen on surveillance cameras inside the store located at 301 S. State Rd 7 just after 3 p.m. Sunday, while her daughter was in a car that was not running, with the window slightly cracked.

Local 10 News obtained body cam video of Hollywood police officers arriving at the scene and, with the help of fire rescue personnel, assisted the child out of the car.

Police said the child was lucky to be alive after the incident.

Authorities confirmed Moloto was taken into custody and faces one count of child neglect.

Court records show she was released from jail on a $10,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim.

No further details have been released about the girl’s condition at this time.
