Miami Beach police seek man in ‘very heinous attack’ of woman rollerblading on Beachwalk

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police in Miami Beach are searching for the person who allegedly attacked a woman who was rollerblading early Tuesday morning.

The suspect is still out there as the victim is recovering.

Police said he attacked the young woman from behind at around 1 a.m. Tuesday as she rollerbladed on the Miami Beach Beachwalk, near 23rd Street.

Investigators are describing this as a battery and a sensitive investigation.

“This was a very, very heinous attack and our organization is taking this seriously,” said Officer Christopher Bess, a spokesperson for the the Miami Beach Police Department.

Authorities did not give much information about exactly what happened, only that the woman was brutally attacked and there was a struggle.

Detectives found video of the attack and released a flyer with still photos of the suspect.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and board shorts, described as around 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 and between 20 and 30 years old with arm tattoos.

“Our priority right now is to identify and locate this offender,” said Bess. “There are still many questions we are seeking to answer.”
