HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police announced the arrest of a man Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of two people at an apartment complex in Hollywood over two years ago.

Hollywood police said the shooting happened just after midnight on May 12, 2022, along Fillmore Street and Dixie Highway.

Police confirmed that one victim died at the scene and the other victim died after being transported to a hospital.

Investigators said surveillance video of the homicides collected by Hollywood police detectives showed one of the victim’s vehicles pulling into a parking lot of the complex and being followed by Williams, who was driving a black Cadillac DTS.

Moments later, police said someone could be heard yelling “Stop b----!” on surveillance video.

That’s when police said the Cadillac stopped on the roadway near the victim’s as Williams exited the passenger side of the vehicle, ran to the vehicle, and “immediately fired seven rounds without hesitation,” the report stated.

“All the police came, they tried to resuscitate the man in this car and couldn’t,” a man named Bobby told Local 10 News after the shooting occurred. “They took a gurney and they ran to the apartments. When they brought him out, I saw he was shot in the face, or it looked like he was, and they took him away.”

The witness also stated that he saw the other shooting victim just feet away near the first floor of an apartment unit.

A woman later told detectives that she drove Williams in the same black Cadillac to and from their friend’s apartment on the night of the shooting.

She described Williams as looking “spooked and “scared” after the shooting occurred but claimed she didn’t witness the shooting or know of Williams’ involvement, the arrest report stated.

Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the shooting and the identities of the victims remain undisclosed.

Jail records show Williams is being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail as of Tuesday morning.
