Body pulled from waters near Rickenbacker Causeway

MIAMI – Authorities rushed to the scene of where a body was reported to be floating in the water.

According to Miami police, their marine patrol responded to the area of the Rickenbacker Causeway Monday afternoon.

Video taken by Local 10 News just before 3 p.m. shows the body on the back of the fire rescue boat just off Key Biscayne.

Multiple fire boats were on scene as they located the body.

They then came to the Rusty Pelican.

Police said the body belonged to a Black male who was 35 years old, but did not provide any further details on his identity pending the notification of next of kin.

How the person ended up floating in the water and who this person is remains unclear.

The investigation remains open and active.
