Authorities respond to fatal crash in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating a fatal crash in northwest Miami-Dade early Monday morning.

The single-vehicle crash happened in the 7200 block of Northwest 27th Avenue, near State Road 9 in the county’s Gladeview neighborhood, according to Miami-Dade police.

Sky 10 flew over the area just before 6:30 a.m. where a car was seen smashed against a concrete guardrail with severe damage to its front and back ends.

Miami-Dade police confirmed the driver involved in the crash died at the scene.

First responders attended to a body which they covered with a tarp a few feet away from where the crash occurred.

According to Local 10 News reporter Alexis Frazier, the crash didn’t appear to be affecting interstate commutes but could lead to the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes in the area.

Authorities have not yet released details about the victim or the cause of the crash.

No other details were immediately released.
