Large police presence spotted after possible shooting in Opa-locka

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Authorities rushed to the scene of an apparent shooting in Miami-Dade County on Wednesday.

Opa-locka police responded to the 2500 block of Northwest 139th Street late Wednesday afternoon.

At least 11 evidence markers could be spotted on the ground outside of a townhouse.

Resident Margarita Valdera, who lives across the street, told Local 10 News’ Samiar Nefzi that she was watching TV with her husband when she heard the apparent gunfire.

Two people were observed being taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities have yet to confirm anything about the incident, including whether anyone was injured.

Crime scene investigators could be seen combing through the area for several hours until clearing the scene just after 8 p.m.
