DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a crash that they said left a victim dead Saturday night in Dania Beach.

After deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene, they found Christopha Germeil, who was riding a 2023 Kaitong scooter “suffering from injuries consistent with being hit by a car.”
Investigators said Germeil was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 32-year-old Nodaimys Plutin Gonzalez was driving a 2017 Infiniti Q50 westbound on Stirling Road when the vehicle rear-ended a scooter.
The impact pushed the scooter into the raised center concrete median, causing it to fall onto its side and slide back into the westbound lanes before coming to a complete stop, deputies said.
According to BSO, excessive speed and impairment on behalf of the driver are not considered contributing factors to this crash at this time.
Authorities did not disclose the victim’s age due to Marcy’s Law.
