HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A body was found along the shoreline in Hollywood Beach Thursday morning, authorities confirmed.
Sky 10 was above the 2300 block of South Broadwalk just after 7 a.m. as a tarp covered the victim’s body.
Multiple police officers could be seen near the body.
According to Hollywood police spokesperson Dany De Andrade, “a resident jogging on the beach came into contact with the victim, who was lying face down on the sand near the shoreline.”
De Andrade confirmed that the victim was an older white male. She said his body was found at about 6 a.m.
Fire rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
De Andrade said the Medical Examiner’s Office removed the body from the scene.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death although no foul play is suspected.
