BSO: Woman, 71, reported missing found dead in Pompano Beach lake

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives confirmed Tuesday that a 71-year-old woman who was reported missing was found dead in a Pompano Beach lake Monday evening.

At around 6 p.m. Monday, Marie Jean-Marie was found in a lake on the south side of Sample Road in Pompano Beach, where she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to detectives.

Authorities said her cause of death will be determined by the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office.

BSO said no foul play is suspected at this time.

A missing person’s alert was issued for Jean-Marie on Monday after she was last seen around 2:30 a.m. near the 1300 block of Southwest 11th Avenue in Deerfield Beach.

Deputies said a death investigation is being conducted and no other details have been released at this time.
