Man killed in Coral Springs shooting; 1 person being questioned by detectives

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Coral Springs police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning.

According to police, the shooting was reported at 9:39 a.m. in the 200 block of Lakeview Drive.

Police said officers arrived at the scene two minutes later and found a man on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to authorities, officers immediately began rendering aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that a gun was recovered in the area.

A neighbor who did not want to be identified told Local 10 News they woke up to the gunfire.

“Four shots,” said the neighbor. “I looked out my window and police were already here. They had the guy arrested.”

Authorities say they believe the shooting was domestic-related or that the victim and shooter were at least known to each other.

They confirmed that detectives are speaking with one person at this time.

“No additional suspects are being sought, and there is no active threat to the community,” the police department posted on Facebook.

No other details were immediately released.
