Miami-Dade police honor retiring lieutenant who served for over 30 years

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A big send-off was held on Wednesday for a Miami-Dade police lieutenant with more than three decades on the job.

That man is Lieutenant Steven Czyzewski.

Video shared by the Miami-Dade Police Department showed the lieutenant ringing the bell at the end of his shift with his family by his side and a hallway full of people he worked with through his career.

Czyzewski began his career as a police explorer at the age of 15 in the Intracoastal District, and was stationed back there after completing the academy.

He most recently worked at the Airport Operations Bureau, with plenty of stops across the department in between.

It’s clear by the number of people who came to see him off that he really left a mark on the department.
