Opa-locka police said officers responded to the 3100 block of Northwest 134th Street just after noon that day in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Police said the victim told officers that he was parked in the area with his driver’s side door open, eating lunch with his wife who was sitting in the front passenger seat, when he saw Boykins riding up to them from behind on a red bicycle.

According to the arrest report, the victim said he knew Boykins from the neighborhood and they were once friends.

But the encounter Saturday was anything but friendly, as police say Boykins pulled out a silver revolver and told the victim, “Give me everything in your mother f***ing pockets. I’m not mother f***ing playing with you!”

Police said the victim tried to change the vehicle gear from park to drive, at which time Boykins pistol-whipped him on the left side of the head.

According to the arrest report, the victim then threw his money on the ground and Boykins fired one shot, missing the victim but striking the vehicle pillar.

Police said Boykins then ordered the victim to pick up the money.

The victim complied and Boykins took the money from the victim’s hand, authorities said.

Police said Boykins then fled the scene.

According to police, the victim told officers where Boykins lives and he was found in the rear of the building.

Boykins was arrested on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting a deadly missile, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault with a firearm.

As of Monday morning, Boykins was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
