Missing child alert issued for South Miami 3-year-old who may be with mother

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – A missing child alert has been issued for a 3-year-old girl from South Miami.

According to police, Shea Eminhizer was last seen in the area of Southwest 78th Terrace, just west of South Dixie Highway. The child’s father, who has full custody of her, has not seen or heard from her since June 24.

Police say she may be in the company of her mother, 41-year-old Christine Betancourt, who the father believes left her home with the child.

According to police, Betancourt was ordered to undergo psychological testing.

“The worry is there is a psychological testing that the court has ruled needed to be done and the child is unaccounted for at this point in time,” South Miami police Chief Reo Hatfield said. “It’s not going to get any better. Come in here, bring the child back.”

The pair may be traveling in a silver Volvo with Florida tag IEX419, authorities said.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
